Freshmax New Zealand joins Forklift Association

As part of our commitment to operating the safest workplace that we possibly we can, we have joined the Forklift Association.

As part of our commitment to operating the safest workplace that we possibly we can, we have joined the Forklift Association. This is a nationwide (New Zealand) organisation which brings companies together who operate forklifts and shares information around the best possible practices. Even though this is a New Zealand organisation, the learnings that we get are transferable and can be applied across our entire group of businesses.

We will be working with representatives the Forklift Association to review our New Zealand sites and practices around forklifts over the coming months. Following on from these visits, we will occasionally host local meetings for Members of the Forklift Association. This means other people who have similar roles in other companies will attend and share their perspective on similar issues to those that we face – Health & Safety; training; retention of staff; managing equipment and suppliers etc.

We’ve done this because there’s always more to learn. Some parts of what we do with forklifts are very good – other areas can be improved. We’ll take what we can from the Forklift Association, their expertise and the experience of the industry colleagues and connections our membership gives us access to.

Annual Forklift Games

The Forklift Association will hold an annual Expo and the Forklift Games. The games will start with a number of regional competitions that culminate in the national final which will be held in Auckland and is currently planned for February 2019. This event is sponsored by ASB and promises to be both fun and challenging. Contestants will be expected to be experts in the use of their equipment, mandatory SOP’s and show lateral thinking in their problem solving.

Expect further communication and information on this event and how you can get involved in October.
